ToggleUnderstanding Our Service Terms: Why Clear Policies Protect Your MacBook Repair
When you hand your valuable MacBook or laptop over to a service centre, you are placing an immense amount of trust in the hands of the technical team. At Orange Fix Services, we believe that trust is a two way street that relies entirely on transparent communication before any tools touch your machine.
Laying out precise terms and conditions on our Service Note is not about creating complex legal barriers. Instead, it ensures that you know exactly what to expect regarding diagnostic timelines, labour costs, and component handling, leaving absolutely no room for unexpected surprises or unmet expectations.
Important Notice: Updated Terms and Automated Digital Copies
Please note that as of 1 July 2026, we have officially updated the terms and conditions on our Service Note to provide better clarity for all parties.
The exact moment you send your MacBook to us for an assessment, a complete digital copy of these updated terms and conditions will be generated and delivered directly to your phone by WhatsApp or email. This digital copy serves as your official service ticket and ensures that you have access to our complete operational policies.
Celebrating 18 Years of Technical Service in Malaysia
Most of our team members have been operating within the Malaysian tech repair landscape for 18 years. Over nearly two decades, we have successfully restored thousands of devices, helping local professionals, students, and businesses get back to work quickly.
We are incredibly proud to state that 99.9% of our clients are wonderful, reasonable, and supportive individuals who deeply appreciate the precision repair and micro soldering work we do. However, running a long term technical business means that a tiny 0.01% of situations involve minor disputes or attempts to bypass standard operational diagnostic fees. To protect our staff, maintain our high service standards, and ensure we can continue serving our community for another 18 years, we maintain firm and non negotiable guidelines on our intake forms.
Transparency First: The Purpose of the RM100.00 Diagnostic Fee
A common point of discussion in the independent repair industry is the diagnostic fee (checking fee). According to Clause 2 of our updated T&C, a standard diagnostic fee of RM100.00 is strictly payable once the technical checking process begins on your machine.
This fee is not a deposit for a successful repair, it covers the skilled manual labour, time, and advanced machinery required to safely receive, open, inspect, test, and reassemble your device. The diagnostic fee remains fully payable regardless of whether a fault is successfully identified, whether a device is ultimately deemed unrepairable, or if you choose not to proceed with the recommended repair quotation. Highly complex issues, such as liquid damage or short circuits, require hours of microscope analysis, and our technicians must be fairly compensated for their professional expertise.
Reality of Replaced Parts and Micro Components
We have recently encountered situations where clients have raised concerns regarding old, faulty parts that were removed during the repair process. Clause 14 of our Service Note outlines that Orange Fix Services retains full discretion over the handling, recycling, and disposal of replaced parts, unless a client explicitly requests their return in writing before repair work commences.
There are structural and environmental reasons for this operational rule:
-
Micro Component Destruction: During advanced logic board repairs, faulty micro components like capacitors, resistors, and integrated circuits are microscopic. They are often permanently burnt, physically degraded, or entirely destroyed during the high heat desoldering process, making them impossible to collect or return.
-
Exchange Basis Sourcing: Many primary components, such as screen display assemblies and official battery replacements, are sourced from suppliers on an exchange basis to keep costs down for the consumer. The manufacturer provides the replacement part at a lower rate in exchange for the original core for factory recycling, meaning the old part cannot be returned to the client.
Digital Acceptance and the 24 Hour Response Window
Because we provide digital copies of our Service Notes via electronic channels, we maintain clear guidelines on how acceptance is confirmed. If a Service Note is sent to you digitally and we do not receive any written questions, objections, or clarifications within 24 hours, the terms are reasonably considered read, understood, and fully accepted.
Furthermore, if you explicitly instruct our team via WhatsApp, email, or a phone call to proceed with an open diagnosis or an approved quotation, that direct instruction serves as a binding confirmation of acceptance. This allows our workshop to order specialized components and allocate immediate repair work to your device without causing administrative delays to your repair timeline.
Securing the Next 18 Years of Device Repairs
While our front of shop team is always dedicated to providing warm, personalized customer service, our operational rules regarding payments, collections, and component disposal remain firm. We do not allow room for claims regarding unrecorded accessories, old components, or waived diagnostic fees once work has been authorized.
By keeping our service terms clear, transparent, and digitally documented, we eliminate misunderstandings and protect our technicians from unfair disputes. This structured professionalism is exactly what allows Orange Fix Services to invest in premium diagnostic gear, retain top tier technical talent, and remain Malaysia most trusted independent repair centre.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I request my old device parts back after the repair is completed?
No, requests for old parts must be made in writing before you sign the agreement and before repair work begins. Many internal components are handled on a factory exchange basis or are entirely destroyed during high heat micro soldering procedures, making them impossible to salvage after the job is done.
Why must I pay the RM100.00 fee if my MacBook cannot be repaired?
The RM100.00 fee covers the actual technical labour, specialized time, and diagnostic equipment utilized to disassemble and test your device. Even if a machine is found to be beyond economical repair due to severe board corrosion or physical damage, our technical team has still expended professional time to deliver that definitive result.
